1. Nice Suit – Shame about the Moiré

    10th December 2009

Here is a little Blog to share a solution to an occasional, but by no means rare problem relating to certain types of suit. A problem that has caused years of frustration and anguish – and a lot of Googling to find a solution.

The problem I occasionally get is that of Moiré patterns caused by certain types of fabric.

I’ve finally managed to find a solution that is so simple and so fool-proof that I didn’t mind in the slightest that I had to pay $12 to find out about it, courtesy of fredmiranda.com. I purchased their Photoshop Action script called, appropriately enough, Moiré Reducer.

To save you downloading it, this is basically all it does:

    • Open your image in Photoshop
    • Use the Eyedropper to select the colour of the fabric you wish to match (the ‘good’ suit)
    • Select the ‘Color Replacement Tool’
    • Resize the brush to size required
    • Select ‘Color’ mode
    • Paint on the Moiré affected areas (the ‘bad’ suit)

    That’s it!
