Geneva

5th May 2010

At the end of April I returned to Geneva for the 6th time to do an editorial shoot for Words & Pictures’ client Procter & Gamble.

These trips always end up being a pretty hectic, maximising the time to fit in as many people as possible. For me, this is what makes the trip interesting and fun as it pushes me to think on my feet to respond to last-minute changes.

This is a trip that really benefits from a little bit of planning. Fortunately the people involved are pretty good at that and we rarely get caught out. W&P are brilliant at supplying the visuals and descriptions of what they want but at the same time allow me plenty of room to interpret a situation and do what is necessary.

At the end of the day-and-a-half shoot, the 800 shots were edited down for the client to a manageable but generous 200. So these are just a small selection.

I managed to do the shoot with just some basic equipment. A single portable flash, 2 Canon cameras and 3 lenses and of course my MacBook. This trip I’ve managed to keep the weight down to 12kg – so no excess baggage to pay – which should please the clients!
