Client Words & Pictures commissioned me to take a series of documentary images and to produce a filmed interview of The Patrick James Pearson Band who’d just returned from performing at Glastonbury.

It is possible to combine stills and video in one session. It is not without challenge and planning what to shoot as a still and what as video takes a bit of consideration. In this case the choice was made a little easier as the interview could only be produced as video.

On the whole it is positive that clients are looking at cross-media/multi-media features, particularly if it is done with careful planning and consideration as was the case with this commission. The video was published on the company’s internal website and the photography in their staff magazine.

I’ve found the whole process very creative and quickly discovered how well my documentary shooting style translates into video. The photography and video were produced for mobile phone company Everything Everywhere.
